And now... on to movie rants! ^_^;

Dogma!

One of the coolest movies I've seen this year! ^_^ Of course, this might be due to the fact that I love analyzing religion to death. Definitely not recommended to those who are defensive about their faith, especially the western ones.

There's a lot in this movie that is reminiscient of Gaiman's Sandman series, especially Seasons of Mist. It even has Azrael in it! :P Azrael's extended speech about humanity and hell was excellent, particularly how people go to hell because they want to be punished, thus making hell far worse than merely being removed from God. Speaking of God... her answer to "why are we here?" was so sweet! ^____^ Loki and Bartleby are so slashable, regardless of what they might say. No, it's not because it's Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (although Matt Damon is rising in my list of fave actors). They've got the coolest best buddies relationship (well, for a while, they do), and their conversations are terribly cute. Alas, the yaoi beastie within will not be repressed. ;_; I still love Rufus' acute observation of Jay.

Rufus: You masturbate more than anyone else on this planet.
Jay: Everybody knows that! Come on, tell me something else.
Rufus: ...and when you do it, you think of men.
Jay: ... o_o
Silent Bob: ... o_O

I think overall, I could have done without so much violence (holy bartender, ha ha ha), but I still love this movie.

And now... Amelie!

Such an adorable movie! It manages to be sweet and whimsical without being sappy and stereotypical. I like how all the characters have their little quirk. I also like the idle randomness of everything ("how many people are having orgasms right now?"). And the gnome... whee! That was so cute!! Amelie is friggin' awesome. So's her guy (who is also rather cute). I forgot the name of the actress who played Amelie, but she reminds me a lot of Audrey Hepburn (which is a good thing, btw).

Off to watch Fight Club now. ^_^

One of my friends (yo, touto-chan! *waves*) has agreed to work on a piccie of Mitsui (Slam Dunk) for me, but he needed reference points, so I was going through the scanned manga for good pics of him. Damn, he is so hot. *blissful grin* We seriously need guys in RL to look like him. And yes, touto-chan, the pics are coming soon. There will be about four 1000x1000 px collages of just him. ^_^ Aren't you glad you agreed to this? :P

~ I like how the last introspective conversation of the series was between Gokyo and Hakkai. Wai!
